Hello friends,
Let us read the Bible together. Today we’ll be reading Ruth Chapter 1.

There are only two books in the Bible that are specifically named after women. One is the book of Esther, and the other is the book of Ruth, which we are starting to read today.
The story of Ruth takes place during the turbulent time of the judges, when Israel was suffering from a famine. Ruth was originally a foreign woman who married an Israelite. After she lost her husband, she still lived with and cared for her mother-in-law.
Although times were hard, her love and loyalty to her mother-in-law supported their blessed family. In this period of darkness, such character was even more precious, and God was always by their side. He greatly blessed Ruth, making her the great-grandmother of David, the king of Israel!

Ruth 1:16
But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or to return from following you. For where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God my God.
