"Oh Lonesome Me" is a popular song written and recorded in December 1957 by Don Gibson with Chet Atkins producing it for RCA Victor in Nashville. Released in 1958, the song topped the country chart for eight non-consecutive weeks. On what became the Billboard Hot 100, it peaked at number 7. It was Gibson's only Top 10 hit on the pop chart. Its B-side was "I Can't Stop Loving You", which peaked at number 7 on the Country &Western Jockey charts and became a standard song about unrequited love. The vocal backings on both songs were provided by the Jordanaires.

The song was covered by The Kentucky Headhunters in 1990. Their version went to number 8, which was the band's highest-peaking single.

Johnny Burnette recorded ''Oh Lonesome Me'' in 1960, originally written by Don Gibson. It’s a heartfelt country-pop tune about loneliness and lost love, later covered by many artists. The song captures the pain of heartbreak and isolation. Burnette sings about being left behind while others are out enjoying life. Key lines include: ''Everybody’s going out and having fun / I’m just a fool for staying home and having none''. The chorus contrasts his loneliness with the carefree life of his former lover, highlighting the bittersweet mix of longing and regret. You can read the full lyrics on Genius. ''Oh Lonesome Me'' is one of Don Gibson’s most famous compositions, but Johnny Burnette’s rendition gave it a rockabilly-country flavor. The song has been covered by artists like Neil Young, Johnny Cash, and others, showing its enduring appeal across genres.
