Due to a large low pressure system crossing the country plans have been changed. Kev and his brother Warren head to the east coast of the South Island for a bit of a different tramp - a beach tramp. Starting at the Waima River (the same river that's heads up to Sawcut Gorge) Kev and Warren head north along the coast passing Needles Point, Ward Beach, Chancet Rocks and Cape Campbell before reaching the DOC camping ground at Marfell's Beach https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/marlborough/places/marfells-beach-area/things-to-do/campsites/marfells-beach-campsite/

Key features include three seal colonies (Needles Point, Chancet Rocks and Cape Campbell/Te Rae O Te Kōhaka), some fantastic limestone rock formations, a rugged windswept coast line, two sets of large round boulders (resembling the significantly better known Moeraki Boulders). These are located about 8 minutes north of Ward Beach, and just past Chancet Rocks. And of course the lighthouse at Cape Campbell/Te Rae O Te Kōhaka.

Rough time estimates:
Waima River to Ward Beach 3 to 4 hours
Ward Beach to Cape Campbell/Te Rae O Te Kōhaka 4 to 5 hours
Cape Campbell/Te Rae O Te Kōhaka to Marfell's Beach campground 2 to 3 hours
