Kenneth Ray Rogers was an American country music singer, photographer, producer, and actor. He was a member of the country rock and psychedelic rock band Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, before making his successful solo career. His career achieved greater popularity between the 1970s and 1980s, when he won a three-time Grammy, and had the greatest hits with the songs “The Gambler”, “We've Got Tonight” and “Lucille”. He is considered one of the forerunners of the fusion between country and pop styles.
In 2016 he started his farewell tour, but interrupted it in 2018 due to health reasons. He went on to create Gospel melodies. In May 2019, Rogers was admitted to a Georgia hospital for dehydration, amid rumors that his overall health was in decline. Rogers died at his own Sandy Springs home of natural causes, surrounded by family members, on March 20, 2020.

Foi membro da banda de country rock e rock psicodélico Kenny Rogers and The First Edition, antes de fazer sua carreira solo de sucesso. Sua carreira alcançou maior popularidade entre as décadas de 1970 e 1980, quando venceu por três vezes o Grammy, e teve como maiores sucessos as canções “The Gambler”, “We've Got Tonight” e “Lucille”. É considerado um dos precursores da fusão entre o estilo country e o pop.
Em 2016 iniciou sua turnê de despedida, mas a interrompeu em 2018 por motivo de saúde. Passou a criar melodias Gospel. Em maio de 2019, Rogers foi internado em um hospital da Geórgia por desidratação, em meio a rumores de que sua saúde geral estava em declínio. Rogers morreu em sua própria casa, em Sandy Springs, de causas naturais, cercado por seus familiares, em 20 de março de 2020.
