(Back to the country 12) Dick van Altena - Mendocino [2023]

Theater production 'Back To The Country' is, not without reason, the Netherlands' longest running country music production. Also this season, the 7-member cast has once again put together a package of songs to enjoy.
The main course is of course the 2-hour show in which more than 30 titles are reviewed. Dessert is the famous "after party" in which it is always a big party because of the high 'sing-but-along' content.
The acts have been at the European country top for decades and have more than earned their spurs.
In short, 'Back To The Country' and 80 years of music experience.
You see, all the ingredients are there for another high-quality and unadulterated evening of nostalgia: classics from the rich country history with trips to related music genres, served by Dick van Altena, Cor Sanne and the band Savannah.
"Mendocino: is the second album by American country rock group The Sir Douglas Quintet, released in April 1969 on Smash Records. The album's release was accelerated due to the success of the title song, which peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart during a fifteen-week stay in early 1969. The album peaked at No. 81 on the Billboard 200 charts. Neon Records re-released the album in 2001 and 2008.
