This song was released as a single March 11,1974 after being recorded in 1973.I Will Always Love you was wriiten by Dolly as a farewell to her business partner & mentor Porter Wagoner after deciding it was time to pursue a solo career.The song reached the Country Billboard #1 spot twice.The 1st time in 1974 & then again October 1982 with a re-recording for the movie 'The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas' starring Burt Reynolds & Dolly Parton
