Three Kris Kristofferson masterpieces - all written in 1970, all from a man who gave up everything safe for everything real.

IN THIS MEDLEY:
0:00 - Me and Bobby McGee (1970)
[TIMESTAMP] - Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down (1970)
[TIMESTAMP] - Why Me Lord (1970)

THE STORY BEHIND THESE SONGS:
Kristofferson was a Rhodes Scholar and Army helicopter pilot who threw it all away to sweep floors at a Nashville studio. He landed a helicopter in Johnny Cash's yard to deliver a demo. "Me and Bobby McGee" was Janis Joplin's final recording - three days before her death. "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" made Cash say it was the greatest song he'd ever heard.

Three songs that proved a janitor could be a poet.
