Kris Kristofferson wrote, "Help Me Make it through the Night" in 1970. Before lending his hand to writing songs, Kris was a golden gloves boxer, footballer, army captain and helicopter pilot. He also attended Oxford University, England for a year where he did a masters degree on the poetry of William Blake! Not the typical background for a Texas outlaw country singer.
