The song “I will always love you” was written by Dolly Parton back in 1973 after her decision to leaving the Porter Wagoner show. It became a bonafide hit in 1974 and again in 1982. Then in 1992 the song was covered by Whitney Houston for the soundtrack hit “The bodyguard.” Even Elvis Presley wanted to take a bite at the song, but he wanted half of the royalties and Dolly said no! Don’t you just love history?!?
