Hi! We’re Cassie and Brian. We love the great outdoors but our hectic work lives kept us from getting out there and enjoying nature. After spending countless hours watching other people conquer the AT, PCT, and CDT, we thought we should get off the couch and explore what Texas has to offer!

So, we purchased our first sets of backpacking gear and drove five hours to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area located in Fredericksburg, Texas. We spent two days and two nights camping and hiking around this huge state natural area.

According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, Enchanted Rock was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1970 and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The Park is 1,643 acres but the massive pink granite dome covers 640 acres and rises 1,825 feet above sea level!
