Phoebe Bridgers has such a cool, haunting version of this Merle Haggard song. The original is almost upbeat, musically, “everything is gonna be alright” dominating the theme. I went for something in between: a parent’s worry masked by the hopeful, earnest face she presents to the child. My “little girl” introduced me to this song and requested it. So, happy December, Maia!

I used the Zoom H6 recorder. And harmonies are provided with the TC Helicon VG.
