2017 5 Star John Petty is a 6'7 SG committed to Alabama.The five-star Mae Jemison shooting guard and reigning Mr. Basketball chose the Crimson Tide over Kentucky. Choosing close to home. Petty is expecting to continue to have a great season and win Mr. Basketball for a second time in a row. John Petty is arguably the best SG in his class, when it comes to size, skills, and athleticsm he checks all those boxes. John Petty played for Team Penny over the summer and led them to the Peach Jam Final Four, He averaged 14.2 PPG/5 RPG/3 APG in the EYBL. He is currently ranked as the 24th best player in the class of 2017 by ESPN. He is currently projected as a first round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. John Petty along with fellow 5 star Alabama Commit Collin Sexton look to change the program around and lead them to the NCAA Tournament.
