In the most exciting twist of fate in his short life, Kyle Erickson found himself on a schooner off the East Coast this summer. What follows are some of the songs he sang on the Liberty Clipper back in 0'23.
"I was out one night having a pint at the Black Rose in Boston when I got a text that one our friends from the boat had her tattoo gun and was doing tattoos in the salon of the Clipper. I thought "how can I pass up this kind of a story?" so I literally ran back to the boat and proceeded to get my very first tattoo while listening to Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried." Of course, when putting together this series, I needed to include this song because it's been so influential for me this summer."
