We finish the discussion of the parable of the two sons and begin the parable of the wicked tenants. Both are parables of judgment. The first focuses on those who say the right things but fail to do them; it emphasizes the importance of a unity of faith and works. As a result, those who first refused to do the will of the Father but then repented "will go into the Kingdom of God before you" (or, more likely, "instead of you" rather than "before you"). The second focuses on the consequences of ignoring the commands of God, his prophets, and his Son -- they will be replaced by those who are amenable to doing the will of the Father.
