From an agate patch up on a hill overlooking the valley below I could see for miles, beautiful views of lush old growth forest going unspoiled all the way to the snow capped peaks on the cascade mountain range.
An old muddy trail full of deep ruts led down into the ravine where a gentle stream meandered through. At one time there used to be a road that crossed over but it was washed out long ago. In that creek are lots of nice little agates and jaspers to be found but these agates were found from a meadow above. This 2 day overlanding adventure features camping, cooking and rockhounding for agates. Also I will show you how I set up a tarp behind my SUV so the entire vehicle may be propane heated as I sleep safely inside while it is freezing outside.

The Applegate Bushcraft Survival and Prospecting channel will be focused on survival bush craft, back country adventures, overlanding, camping, outdoor cooking, trout fishing, rock hounding, prospecting, wild craft, edible plants, beach combing, making jewelry and some local points of interest in the pacific northwest area. This is a general purpose outdoors channel where we will be exploring everything from historic mining sites and ghost towns to wild mushroom patches, botanical areas and mountain country as we travel Bigfoot's back yard in southern Oregon and northern California in search of natural beauty. Whether you are a survivalist, foodie or just enjoy hiking and hunting for pretty rocks, I think you will enjoy our adventures and invite you to come along. At no time will any sasquatches be harmed in the making of these films.
