Train story-song, composed by Sterling Whipple and first recorded by Merle Haggard in 1976. Although sometimes we complain about environmental effects of mining, we eagerly use the products of such. Meanwhile, the miners take the high risks involved, too often out of sight.
Recorded in front of the fireplace, minus 20 night.
Near the end of this recording, right on time, as if cued, a canine voice can be heard joining in... perhaps one of our coyote friends.
