Cooler weather returned, so this week we’re back inside. Spring is almost here. Almost. Rudy got us warmed up with Bill Monroe’s classic “Shenandoah Valley Breakdown,” before Woody reminded us of our “Long Journey Home.” Emeline channeled Dolly on “Marry Me,” and she and Craig covered David Francey’s “Torn Screen Door,” before Rudy blessed us with his version of the Merle Haggard classic “Fugitive” song. Regular viewers of the channel are familiar with the Buffett Song of the Week (BSOW), where I attempt to teach the audience and the band a Buffett song they didn’t know. I’ve been doing it every week since the day he passed. This one is from the Havana Daydreaming album and was written by Jesse Winchester. Sometimes, it takes a few minutes to teach the band the song. Not so with this one. I just played the song, and the band played along. It was awesome. Emeline brought back her original “Let Me Let You Down” from her 2021 release “Not so Bad After All,” which several of us played on. Woody likes to call “Gentle On My Mind” because it’s a song everybody’s heard before, so they can tell if we’re any good or not. Craig took us back to the “Bridges of Madison County” with his rendition of “It All Fades Away.” I’ve been working on my Josh Graves repertoire, and “Jennifer Waltz” is a cornerstone of that. And for our penultimate song, we gave into the pressure of a heavy, heavy tipper and played “Rocky Top.” Spring is almost here. Almost!

Recorded on a Zoom Q2n-4k and a Zoom H1.
