Known this song for years but never recorded it. Thats the Way Love Goes was written by Lefty Frizzell and Sanger D. Shafer in the early 70's. First artist to record this was Johnny Rodriguez in December 1973. Connie Smith recorded it too in 1974. Lefty did record it too but it failed to chart while years later, 1983 Merle Haggard had a hit with it. I guess the version we all remember is the Haggard version. I hope I've done it justice. Its a simple song about day to day love.
