On 28 July 2020, Dr. Andrew Beaumont of Hartford College, Oxford, gave a virtual lecture to nearly 100 UMass Oxford Summer Seminar alumni. His talk, "Oxford: the Plague Years," wrapped up a celebratory month of the program's legacy, and was in honor of the 2020 Seminar which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time in over 50 years that the Oxford Summer Seminar was unable to run. Beau's lecture rekindled the spirit of the program and kept one of its oldest traditions (High Table Lectures) alive.

Dr. Beaumont has been a tutor for the UMass Oxford Summer Seminar since 2007. He teaches British Perspectives on the American Revolution and is beloved by his students and fellow faculty.

Thank you to the wonderful Alumni of the UMass Oxford Summer Seminar for an incredible July, an even better evening, and countless years of love to the program!
