we drove to dollywood in the smoky mountains to tour nightflight expedition, the park’s major new attraction opening in 2026. this enormous indoor project is being built by mack rides and will be the first installation of its kind in the united states. the only other version of this rocking boat ride operates at futuroscope park in france as mission bermudes.

during our dollywood construction tour, we walked through the giant show building, saw mack rides track sections up close, and got an early look at how one of the most anticipated new theme park rides in america is taking shape in east tennessee.

dollywood continues to expand as one of the most visited theme park destinations in the southeast, and nightflight expedition is set to be a major addition to pigeon forge in 2026.
