Why has Chinese President Xi Jinping suddenly disappeared from public view? One by one, Xi’s closest political allies are either being eliminated or forced to resign. On 6th July 2025, the 17th BRICS Summit was held in Brazil but for the first time in history, the Chinese President didn’t attend. Even more shocking, Xi wasn’t seen in public for 12 straight days after 21st May. When he finally appeared on 3rd June, it was during a private meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenkoheld. But not at the Chinese Presidential Palace, but in a private house. No translators, no government officials, just the two of them. Lukashenko later revealed that Xi looked extremely tired, sick, and distracted. Soon after, state media reported Xi had suffered multiple heart attacks, while other outlets claimed a regime change is coming, possibly led by former President Hu Jintao.
