Road conditions in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital of Kamchatka, Russia, remain extremely dangerous after a series of severe winter storms battered the Far Eastern peninsula last week, bringing a mix of snow, ice, and strong winds.

Governor Solodov ordered schools in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to reopen as soon as possible. He also asked city officials to manually track the movement of food and fuel supplies until a full recovery can be declared.
