Most expat videos aren’t lying — but many are answering the Wrong Question.
Every week, you see comparisons:
Vietnam vs Philippines
This country vs that country
Best place to move
Cheapest place to live
And somehow, after watching them… you feel more confused than before.
In this video, I explain why.
This isn’t about bashing any country.
And it’s not about crowning a “winner.”
It’s about understanding the difference between:
• tourism vs real life
• short-term experience vs long-term living
• low prices vs daily friction
• hype vs sustainable quality of life
I also talk honestly about something that doesn’t get discussed enough on YouTube — how selling courses, guides, or relocation systems can unintentionally shape the story being told.
That doesn’t make anyone a bad person.
But it does mean you should think carefully before making life-changing decisions based on rankings and certainty.
On The Expat Review, I’m not here to sell you a country.
I’m here to help you think more clearly about trade-offs, risk, and what actually matters when you’re redesigning your life.
Whether I’m filming from Western New York, traveling, or testing life somewhere new — the goal stays the same:
Stay honest.
Stay curious.
And be willing to say “I was wrong” when reality changes.
