Fare Well / Paul Winter Consort / Spanish Angel / Track 1

Paul Halley wrote this piece during the Consort’s tour of Spain, as a tribute to Rhonda Larson, who would soon be leaving the group to embark on a solo career. This recording has a particular poignance to it, as it was the last night of Rhonda’s final tour with the Consort.

Written by Paul Halley (Back Alley Music, ASCAP)

Paul Winter | soprano sax
Paul Halley | keyboards
Rhonda Larson | flute
Eugene Friesen | cello
Eliot Wadopian | bass

SPANISH ANGEL captures the Paul Winter Consort’s third tour of Spain, in 1992. Roused by fervent audiences, stimulated by the vibrant acoustics of classic old opera houses and concert halls, the Consort gave dynamic performances which, captured on state-of-the-art recording equipment, have resulted in a favorite and Grammy-winning album.
